Art Parts Creative Reuse Center This community nonprofit inspires and promotes creativity through reuse. ArtWalk Longmont May, TBA: ArtWalk is a free evening of art exhibitions, music, live theater and dance, and children’s activities on Longmont’s Main Street between Third and Sixth avenues. Boulder Art Association Rotating works by BAA members are on display year-round at businesses throughout the county; check the website for a schedule. Boulder Art Therapy Collective Boulder Art Therapy Collective is “an environment that inspires people to freely share and make art together in community” through weekly workshops, open studios and clinical trainings. Tuesdays: Parent Art Group, 9:30am-noon Tuesdays: Open Door Studio: Tuesday Night Stress Relief and Relaxation Art Group, 6-8pm Boulder Arts Week March 31-April 8: This large-scale, all-inclusive celebration of arts and culture includes art walks, exhibitions, demonstrations, lectures, workshops, and a wide variety of dance, theater and musical performances. The group also maintains an online calendar of countywide arts events and hosts monthly Business of Arts workshops. www.bouldercountyarts.org. Boulder Creative Collective: Warehouse BCC’s Warehouse is an event space and gallery where Boulder-area residents “can connect with art through exciting and unexpected events.” It offers art exhibits, classes, social hours for artists, and a Community Critique (every other month) where artists can share their work and get constructive feedback. Boulder Metalsmithing Association 2nd Saturdays: BoMA’s monthly demonstrations are open to the public ($5 for nonmembers) and feature techniques and tips about the metal arts. A History of the Visual Arts in Boulder Through Jan. 31: Huge, four-month celebration of visual arts features art exhibits, film presentations, panel discussions and other events with more than 300 artists at nearly 20 venues in Boulder and Longmont. Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale Jan. 7-22: This annual event has been called “one of the finest exhibitions of contemporary realism of the Western U.S.” The exhibit and sale are open the same hours as the National Western Stock Show, 4655 Humboldt St., Denver. East Boulder County Artists Studio Tour April 29-30: Artists in Lafayette, Louisville, Longmont, Erie and Niwot open their studios to visitors during this annual event. Farmers’ Market Artisan Shows Juried shows are held in conjunction with the Boulder and Longmont Farmers’ Markets, one Saturday per month at each location. Check www.bcfm.org. Firefly Handmade Holiday Market Dec. 10-11: Browse the work of more than 100 independent artisans while strolling through the huge heated tent; there’s also live music, food and drink, and children’s activities. Longmont Art in Public Places Tours The Longmont Bike Map (available online or at the Longmont Museum & Cultural Center) shows the locations of the 100-plus works in Longmont’s impressive public art collection, so you can design your own walking, biking or driving tour.
