We’ll Miss Your Shoes

Since 1991, Boulder’s nonprofit Community Foundation, which researches Boulder County trends and coordinates service efforts and funding, has granted $68.9 million to local nonprofits and established an endowment of more than $52.3 million. Not incidentally, Josie Heath has headed the nonprofit since 1995. Under her leadership, the foundation hit major milestones in its history, including coordinating response efforts to the 2013 floods and establishing six endowments like the Veterans Fund and Arts Trust. In July 2016, Heath announced her retirement. “Together, we’ve built a foundation for the future,” says Heath, who leaves behind big shoes to fill. At press time the organization was still hunting for Heath’s replacement. —Haley Gray
