Longmont Librarians Get Creative

22 Apr 2021

Although access to libraries has been disrupted during the pandemic, Longmont Public Library and the dedicated librarians inside keep finding unique ways to bring the library to you.

Pick-a-Topic Takeaway Bags are specially curated for each patron. Just submit your topic of interest (like sharks, astronauts or castles) and enjoy curbside pickup of a tote filled with materials related to your topic, including books, audiobooks, DVDs and magazines.

There’s also a new “Book Chatter” podcast, which debuted in January. On the second Friday of every month, listen to a rotating group of librarians discussing the featured book—it’s a program you’ll find more engaging if you’ve read the book first. On May 14, they’ll be chatting about "Yellow Bird:  Oil, Murder, and a Woman's Search for Justice in Indian Country," by Sierra Crane Murdoch. Check the rest of the schedule at bit.ly/LibPrograms.
