Great Start for Art

The county’s movers, shakers and art enthusiasts convened at Jane Butcher’s house in Boulder on June 7 to commence a kickoff party for the History of Visual Arts in Boulder (HOVAB). The ambitious HOVAB revisits and celebrates the city of Boulder’s lively visual arts past, beginning all the way back in the late 19th century and continuing to present day. With exhibits at 17 galleries citywide and in Longmont, the exhibit embraces visual arts, film screenings, programs, art tours, discussions, digital media and more. So mark your calendar for HOVAB’s opening on Sept. 29. The exhibition runs through Jan. 15, 2017.
