Next time you help orphaned and injured wildlife by dropping off consignment goods at Greenwood Wildlife Thrift Shop & Consignment Gallery in Boulder, you can designate other nonprofits you’d like to help with the money your goods raise.

Starting this fall, Greenwood kicks off its newest program, Consign for Your Cause, in an effort to raise funds for not only Greenwood, but also other local nonprofits desperately in need of cash. The process is simple. People bring their furniture, decorative items and jewelry to Greenwood Consignment Gallery and identify the local nonprofit to which they’d like to donate half of the proceeds. That nonprofit then receives an email, notifying them of the intended donation. When the item sells, 50 percent of the proceeds goes to Greenwood and 50 percent goes to the other designated nonprofit. “Nonprofit supporters are downsizing, organizing and donating furniture, décor and jewelry every day,” says Diane McCarthy, retail manager of the Greenwood Wildlife Thrift Shop & Consignment Gallery at 3600 Arapahoe Ave. “If we give them the opportunity to consign their inventory on behalf of their favorite nonprofit, as well as Greenwood, this can help increase monthly cash donations for everyone.” “Greenwood is fortunate to have a retail store as part of its fundraising program,” McCarthy says. “We’d like to give opportunity to other local nonprofits that may not have the resources to run their own program. It’s a win-win.” If you’d like to learn more about Consign for Your Cause, call 303-245-0800 and ask for Diane or email her at info@greenwoodconsignment.org.
