An Amazing Wealth of Films

Wow, what a party! Or parties, as the case was during the 2017 Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) on March 2-5. BIFF not only screened countless feature films, documentaries, shorts, premieres and animations of world-class quality, it hosted an Opening Night Red Carpet Gala that featured not one, but two parties at the Hotel Boulderado and Rembrandt Yard. Libations and small plates by Big Red F Restaurants (Jax, Zolo, West End and Centro) accompanied live music by Espresso! and the Amelie Trio, while costumed film creatures wove their way between revelers at each event.

Afterward, everyone walked with the Guerrilla Fanfare Brass Band to the Boulder Theater to watch a screening of Their Finest. Closing night featured Boulder filmmaker Jeff Orlowski’s stunning film Chasing Coral, a documentary on why the world’s coral reefs are dying at an astounding rate. An amazing wealth of films screened at six venues in between the opening and closing nights that were peppered with parties galore. See you at BIFF 2018!
