It's always best to shop local, and this year's supply-chain delays make it more prudent than ever to do your shopping in person. Here's a list of holiday markets happening in Boulder County this December:

   

Winter Market Series

Wibby Brewing, Longmont Dec. 1, 8, 15, 22 This weekly winter market features a rotating group of local vendors selling unique gifts including jewelry, woodworking, ceramics, hanging and pallet art, plants and cacti, accessories, candles, wallets, soaps and more. Rayback Holiday Bash

Rayback Collective, Boulder Dec. 4 This holiday celebration features a holiday market, along with seasonal drinks, holiday music and an ugly sweater party; therayback.com.  

Holiday Vegan Pop-Up Market

Alavon Ballroom, Boulder Dec. 4 Lots of local vendors and food trucks attend this annual event, offering vegan goods for everybody on your list; eventbrite.com.  

Boulder County Farmers Market's Winter Market

Boulder County Fairgrounds, Longmont Dec. 4-5 The winter market includes over 100 Colorado local vendors selling fresh produce, specialty meats, eggs, baked goods, preserves, cheese, hot sauces, wine, prepared food, coffee, kombucha, jewelry, skincare, woodwork, home goods, and so much more; bcfm.org.  

Lyons Holiday Artisan Market

Lyons Elementary School Dec. 4-5 A wide variety of quality crafts, jewelry, photography, pottery, glass, and textile arts will be found at this event. It's a great opportunity to find unique holiday gifts and accessories. townoflyons.com.  

Nederland Holiday Mountain Market

Nederland Community Center Dec. 4-5 Enjoy festive food, drinks and live music while you shop for gifts made by local artists and artisans. facebook.com.  

Niwot Holiday Market

Downtown Niwot Dec. 4 & 11 Shop from more than 30 holiday pop-up vendors located at businesses all over town while enjoying festive food, drinks and more. niwot.com.  

Artisan Holiday Craft Fair

Museum of Boulder Dec. 5 Support local artists and their crafts while sipping on OZO provided coffee and hot chocolate. Standard museum admission fees do apply, but entry price includes one warm beverage and a custom ornament made on a glowforge laser machine. museumofboulder.org.  

Chautauqua Winterfest

Chautauqua Community House, Boulder Dec. 10-12 This annual winter festival starts on the 10th, but the Winterfest Market only takes place on Dec. 11-12. Browse their selection of exquisite pottery, casually elegant jewelry, whimsically handcrafted ceramics and fiber arts, and other thoughtfully selected fair-trade goods and gifts. chautauqua.com.  

Winter Menagerie

Boulder Creative Collective Dec. 10-12 This holiday market features local artists, including Another Crystal Shop, A Subtle Notion, grey tangerine, Henry & Friends, Inga Pae, Kirstin Childs, Sarah Kinn, Stef Greenleaf and See Saw Ceramics. bouldercreativecollective.com.  

Crafts & Care Holiday Gift Market

Museum of Boulder Dec. 11 Join Natural Highs at The Museum of Boulder for a Holiday Mental Health & Craft Fair supporting youth and mental wellness. Check out crafts, art, poetry, and music from young people while getting some holiday shopping done. This event supports teens and healthy alternatives to substance abuse in Boulder. Longmont Artisan Market

Boulder County Fairgrounds, Longmont Dec. 11-12 The Longmont Artisan Market supports our creative community by connecting makers of all backgrounds with the locals who love them. Their December market features dozens of local artisans with jewelry, clothing, accessories, artwork, soap and more. longmontartisanmarket.com.  

Boulder Holiday Gift Festival

Boulder Mapleton YMCA Dec. 12 More than 100 vendors sell their wares at this festival, offering a vast array of amazing high quality gifts that are locally made. Admission is free and there is a free concert starting at noon with Kenny Lee Young. coloradoevents.org.  

Last Chance Gift Fest

Boulder County Fairgrounds, Longmont Dec. 18-19 This is the biggest holiday craft fair in the state during the final holiday shopping weekend before Christmas.
