HUMANE SOCIETY OF BOULDER VALLEY: PUTTIN’ ON THE LEASH
Calling all cool cats and canines! You won’t want to miss The Silver Screen gala featuring Hollywood’s finest fidos and felines, including Bark Gable and Joan Clawford, as well as Fox31 Denver’s Kami Carmann. The star-studded evening of fine food and complimentary libations features silent and live auctions with 600-plus items, including jewelry, art, pet products, getaways and more. From 6-9 p.m. at the Coors Events Center on the CU campus, the gala benefits thousands of shelter animals that the Humane Society of Boulder Valley cares for every year. Visit POTL2017.org.

CENTRAL CITY OPERA: THEATRE OF DREAMS GALA

If you’ve never been to an opera in Central City, you wouldn’t know you’re missing out on world-class entertainment in a beautiful historic theater. The country’s fifth-oldest opera company, Central City Opera brings groundbreaking performances and splendid talent to historic Central City each summer. This year, the opera celebrates its 85th season during the gala, the organization’s premier annual fundraiser. The event includes a cocktail reception, seated dinner and musical performances starting at 6:30 p.m. in the brand-new Mike Ward Maserati Headquarters at 1850 Lucent Court in Highlands Ranch. Proceeds benefit I Have a Dream’s youth programs for first-graders through college-bound kids, as well as after-school learning centers at local schools, computer technology labs, the Family Outreach Program, counseling and life-skills programs, and career and college preparation programs.
