“Life is a cabaret, old chum, come to the cabaret!”
When Liza Minnelli belted that out in the musical Cabaret, people listened. When YWCA Boulder County hosted its annual Cabaret Gala fundraiser on March 11, people came to support the organization dedicated to “eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.”
The gala honored three local women—Angelique Espinoza, Kim Felton and Sue Heilbronner—for their commitment to YWCA goals and the community. “These distinguished women have helped make Boulder County a better place for us all,” says Amanda Piper, YWCA Boulder County CEO.
The gala, at CU’s Glenn Miller Ballroom, featured hors d’oeuvres, a seated dinner, silent and live auctions, and the rollicking tunes of local band Raising Cain. Thanks to the attendees and gala sponsors, Elevations Credit Union, Tebo Properties, Sterling Rice Group and Colorado Business Bank.
